Because love doesn’t say goodbye.

Aloha Always began with one

little girl and one special doll.

When our family welcomed foster children into our home, I watched my foster daughter, fall in love with my childhood American Girl doll—the same one that once comforted me through hard seasons. Seeing how much she cherished caring for that doll reminded me that healing often begins with love, belonging, and purpose.

We found C a gently used doll of her own—restored, renewed, and ready for a new home. Through that simple gift, she learned she could nurture, be responsible, and dream of being a good momma one day, even after all she had been through.

That’s the heart of Aloha Always. We lovingly restore pre-loved American Girl dolls and gift them to girls in foster care, each paired with a Jesus Storybook Bible. The dolls become a symbol of redemption and hope—a reminder that, like their dolls, these girls are never forgotten, always cherished, and deeply loved by God.

Because love doesn’t say goodbye.
It says Aloha Always.

Why it matters

    • Each refurbished doll reflects God’s power to restore what’s been broken and make it new again.

    • Caring for her doll helps a girl process trauma through nurturing play, building empathy, and learning healthy attachment.

    • As girls enter new homes in foster care, they receive a doll that’s been given new life too — a shared story of resilience and belonging.

    • Through the Jesus Storybook Bible, each girl learns that she is never alone — that there’s a God who loves her, remembers her, and has a plan for her life.
